In preparation for Bakeathon, I will be merging and tagging V2.9-rc1 Thursday morning Pacific Time. We will have 2-4 weeks or so of rc merges before finally merging V2.9.0.

In this light, if you have patches that are still under review, please work to resolve any review issues and have the patches ready for merge.
