No, you don't need rpc.statd if you use NFSv4.x

After starting rpcbind, I started ganesha.nfsd, and got the following in the log. Note that it complains about statd (which is not running on my system), but initializes successfully. I do not intend to run anything but NFSv4, so I thought statd wasn’t needed. Please advise. Thanks.
